Celebrating Creed L. Ford III

Thank you again for all the love, prayers, stories, and notes.  They absolutely mean so much to us.

We will be having a private family burial ceremony followed by a Celebration of Life party on September 29th at our family ranch in Kingsland, Texas.

Exact details of the event will be provided in the next several weeks, but please save the date as Creed would love to celebrate with y’all from high above.

We are sincerely appreciative of the level of donations that have been received so far into The Fired Up Foundation after the passing of Creed. These donations will continue the amazing achievements of the Foundation and the organizations which we support.

We are proud to announce that the upcoming Therapeutic Riding Center at Marbridge in South Austin will be named after Creed.

The official name of the facility will be Creed Ford III Therapeutic Riding Ranch.

Over the past 6 months and led by Creed, we have been working with the Marbridge Foundation to kick off the planning and funding of the new equine center.  Given the nature of Creed's involvement and over-arching vision of the equine therapy program, this naming is an honor for both parties.  This project has been a passion of Creed's for years, and now this dream will become a reality.

An official press release will be launched jointly by Marbridge Foundation and The Fired Up Foundation this week.

Again, we thank you for everything during this tough time.  We will be sad and we will grieve, but we also keep asking ourselves, what would C3 want us to do?

For any questions or inquires, please email clford@frg99.com

With a heavy heart and an abundance of tears,  we want to let everyone know that early this morning around 3:20AM Creed III peacefully entered the Heavens.

There are so many words to say, hugs to give, tears to cry, so please take a moment to reflect on his amazing legacy, great sense of humor, and immense level of caring for others.

We are working on arrangements for a Celebration of Life Party as Creed III would have wanted.

One of his passions was the Fired Up Foundation, and we ask in lieu of flowers for donations to the Foundation so we can continue all the hard work he has invested over the past 20 years.

Creed Ford III

After a long, hard fight, Creed Ford III gave it his all just like he did everyday.  After long talks with both the ICU doctors and the neurologists, we have decided based on his previous stated wishes to remove him from Life Support.  He is comfortable and surrounded by us all.

Creed is an inspiration to all of us and we are truly shocked and devastated.  He was an incredible leader, loving husband, inspiring father and playful grandfather who is loved by so many.  Messages poured in from all over the world and that is a testament to his character and how he treated others.

At this time, we just ask for your thoughts and prayers please.  We appreciate all the love and support.

Wednesday Update

On the morning of July 17th, Creed III suffered cardiac arrest at his house while on a morning walk.  Thankfully, my mom was with him on the walk and quickly called 911.  She began CPR on C3 per the instructions of the operator, and the paramedics were on the scene within 15 minutes.  As the paramedics arrived, they were able to revive C3 pretty quickly.  Within a short period of time, CareFlight arrived and he was transferred to Dell Seton Hospital in Austin.  After performing several tests in the CathLab, he was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit at Seton Main Hospital on 38th.  He is sedated and comfortable while they began the cooling process to protect his brain.

The cooling process is a longer process that takes up to 3 days.

Once the cooling process completes, they will remove the sedation drugs and paralytics in his system and they will begin to wake him up.  At this point, they will begin the brain function tests and we will then know if there is any damage to his brain.

Thank you for all the prayers, thoughts, positive vibes and kind words over the past couple of days.  This is beyond taxing for all of us, and we are just staying positive and supportive of C3 during this time.

We will use this webpage, http://firedup4charity.org/creed3 to post updates as we get them so please share.

With all love...

Lynn, Harper, Peter, Cassie & Creed IV
